Saint Martin's Abbey and University are in Lacey, Washington, a city of 29,240 people, adjacent to Olympia, the state capital. The population of the Greater Olympia Area Lacey, Olympia and Tumwater is about 83,000. Located near the waters of southern Puget Sound, Saint Martin's is about an hour from Seattle, thirty minutes from Tacoma and two hours from Portland, Oregon. From I-5 driving South, take exit 109, from I-5 driving North, take exit 108, and follow the signs to St. Martin's.

The physical beauty of the 300+ acres at St. Martin's is reflective of its rich spiritual presence in the Pacific Northwest. The Abbey grounds are threaded with pleasant walking trails. Many species of wildlife roam or fly over its undeveloped acres and in the meadows near the Abbey and University buildings.
